Whitman College, a private, residential liberal arts college and member of NCAA Division III, announces a full-time, 12-month renewable position for the Head Coaching position in Men’s Basketball. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Director of Athletics, and also serves as an instructor in the SSRA Department. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree highly preferred. This position supports the mission of the College by planning, designing and administering all phases of a successful men’s basketball program including coaching, the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in a rigorous academic environment, scheduling, budget management, travel arrangements and supervision and collaboration of the student athletes and the coaching staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree highly preferred; successful coaching experience at the college level required, successful head coaching experience preferred; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and NWC rules and a commitment to the academic development student-athletes required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, parents and alumni from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds is required.
