The Intercollegiate Athletics Department at The University of Tennessee at Martin, an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Ohio Valley athletic conference, is seeking qualified applicants for an Intern Assistant Director of Strength and Performance Coach position (12-month administrative professional). Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with all phases of the Division I Strength and Conditioning Program, including:
  • Facility scheduling;
  • Practice and game day coaching; and
  • Compliance with NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference rules and regulations;
  • Working in coordination with the other domains (Nutrition, Sports Medicine, and Psychology), as well as coordination with sport coaches; and
  • Providing supervision of interns and volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have an undergraduate degree, training and work experience are equivalent;
  • Must be in pursuit of an advanced degree and meet the guidelines of the UT Martin’s graduate program http://www.utm.edu/departments/gradstudies/index.php
  • Weight training certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or an accredited certification program that meets the guidelines of the NCAA;
  • Demonstrated experience as a weight/strength coach at the university, NCAA or professional-level (a minimum of one year of experience is strongly desired); and
  • Experience in general maintenance and repair of a weight room.
