Description: | Capitol Hoops and DeMatha are excited for summer league 2019 which will begin on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019. Details including the teams in the league, the schedule and more will be released next week. Capitol Hoops started 12 years ago as a company focused on giving high school basketball players maximum exposure while connecting with fans, players, coaches and everyone else who supports DMV high school basketball. Capitol Hoops’ partnership with DeMatha has given us an incredible opportunity to not only showcase basketball players but showcase videographers, photographers, writers, social media experts, web site developers and many other people who have incredible skills that revolve around covering the game. Today we are very excited to offer a new internship opportunity. Last year we had 15 incredible interns who had an opportunity to showcase their skills throughout various media projects in covering the league. We are incredibly excited to now offer a internship program; Broadcasting. Summer league at DeMatha will showcase 187 games this summer, and we want to give broadcast journalism students and others who have some experience in the broadcasting realm an opportunity to work on their craft, and learn from people who have experience in the field. There will be local sportscasters and media personalities who will come to summer league to work with these interns and help them. A good portion of this year’s summer league games will be broadcasted (audio only) online so anyone in the world who has the link can listen. These games will also be archived for interns to share their work with others and to listen and critique their work. This internship is not only broadcasting. All broadcasting interns will also have responsibilities of filming and video editing games. Being well rounded in this space is of utmost importance. Broadcasting interns must have a laptop and video editing software. We will be hiring a maximum of 10 broadcasting interns. Please submit cover letters and resumes to [email protected]. Interns will be required to work 5 days per week for the six week duration of summer league. Please include your availability from May 28th to July 3rd. No equipment is necessary. This is an unpaid internship. We will schedule interviews for the week of May 13th-17th. |
