Description:

Work with the men’s basketball coaching staff with statistical analysis of current team, student athletes, and opponents. Develop algorithms and formulas to help define and translate statistical data into meaningful information to aid coaches in game strategy and team analysis. Work with assistant coaches and video coordinator to help compile scouting reports.   Work with coaching staff and video coordinator on video-related projects.

Qualifications

 Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years’ experience in basketball analytics, coaching or related basketball administration at the collegiate level or higher.
  • Must have at least one year experience in basketball analytics.
  • Knowledge of sport-specific fundamentals, techniques, and safety rules & regulations.
  • Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent (verbal/written) communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret, communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build positive relationships among diverse individuals including: student-athletes, parents, coaches, media, faculty, staff, students, and general public.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting sport.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science or related.
  • Experience with any business intelligence software and analytic tools; including video analysis equipment.
