Description:

The Men’s Basketball Analyst (Athletic Analyst) will assist the Men’s Basketball coaches and staff in the coordination and direction of the program. Responsibilities include operations, film, recruiting, creative media, and other duties as assigned. This position ensures compliance with NCAA policies and regulations, serves as a liaison within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, engages with the Cache Valley and Utah State University communities, and participates in activities beyond the basketball program to contribute to the overall success and reputation of USU Athletics.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Video Production and Distribution:
    • Produce and distribute all video editing needs for the Men’s Basketball program, including opponent and self-scout cut-ups, game tapes, interviews, instructional videos, scouting, teaching, highlights, and motivational tapes.
  • Creative Media Initiatives:
    • Oversee and lead the men’s basketball program in all creative media initiatives including graphic design, creative video, and photography related to social media and recruiting.
    • Produce compelling video content for digital and social outlets from ideation to finished product, including scripting, shooting, editing, and graphic design.
  • Recruiting Creative Efforts:
    • Plan, create, and execute all recruiting creative efforts.
  • Project Management:
    • Work autonomously to ensure projects are completed on time and identify new projects to further the brand.
  • Compliance and Communication:
    • Maintain strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of the program’s operations.
    • Communicate effectively with the Head Coach and athletics administrators.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Engage with the Cache Valley and Utah State University communities. Compliance with NCAA and conference policies and regulations is critical. Violations could result in negative publicity and jeopardize the University’s standing in conference or NCAA rankings. Violations by employees will be documented and addressed individually, which can result in dismissal.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with a Division I program as a player and/or coach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basketball camp playing/coaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong technology background.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Team or group travel experience.
  • Willingness to be a team player and a self-starter.
