Description:
Carson-Newman University is seeking qualified applicants for a Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant. This position is an entry level position and will be involved in all operations of the program, included but not limited to: assisting with all individual workouts and player development; monitoring all areas of academic enhancement including study table and conducting class checks; promoting the mission of the institution; managing the inventory of equipment; assisting with the management of team social media accounts; overseeing student-managers and their responsibilities; setting up and breaking down court and film for practice and games; initiating travel plans including pre-game and post-game meal coordination; assisting with recruiting and on campus visits; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; admittance into a graduate program; the ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.

Preferred: Prior college basketball experience as either a player, coach or manager; Valid driver’s license; Strong organizational skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Computer literacy; Video and Graphics skills.

In addition: Upon acceptance, candidate must successfully complete all required NCAA compliance tests and certifications and comply with all NCAA, SAC, and University rules and regulations. Upon acceptance, candidate must successfully acquire appropriate certifications in First Aid / CPR and AED before the beginning of the competitive season.
