Ottawa University, Kansas (NAIA) currently seeks qualified candidates to fill its open Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant Coaching position.

The selected candidates will be granted tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University’s graduate programs, a partial meal allowance and a bi-weekly living stipend (renewable for a second year as qualified).

The successful candidate will assist the head coach in various aspects of the program with responsibilities including coaching, practice organization and implementation, conditioning supervision, event management responsibilities, transportation, recruitment, equipment control and inventory, and academic monitoring and mentoring.  Evidence of extensive specific sport experience (playing and/or coaching) is required.  All qualified applicants should be fully dedicated to instilling the NAIA Champions of Character values into their coaching style and expectations of players both on and off the field.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver’s license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required.
An earned Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and the ability to obtain admission into an Ottawa University graduate program is required (minimum undergraduate degree GPA of 3.0 is required, as well as other acceptance criteria). Graduate school information and degrees may be found at www.ottawa.edu.  International candidates are only eligible to pursue the on-campus MBA degree of the programs that are offered.  International students must also be able to secure an F1 student visa and meet the international admissions criteria for acceptance into the Ottawa University MBA program.
