Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Men’s Basketball within the department of Athletics. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State’s Graduate School.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and arrange aspects of team travel including but not limited to: team meals for home and away contests, transportation, and team lodging arrangements
2. Assists with monitoring and organizing logistics for practices
3. Assists with the organization and coordination of on-campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Create recruiting graphics, presentations, and itineraries for recruits
4. Review team budget, assist in tracking team costs
5. Breakdown practice and opponent game film
6. Handle office paperwork in an organized, accurate and efficient manner
7. Other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Additional Information

As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Athletics Department, and Illinois State University

Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in psychology of Sport & Physical Activity, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, or MBA
3. Must be registered for at least 3 credit hours during the summer semester.
