Salary: The position pays for all graduate classes plus a $9,000 stipend from UWF. The GA will also earn money from the summer basketball camps. The position is a two year commitment.

Description:

The University of West Florida is seeking a Graduate Assistant for its Men’s Basketball Program.  The individual needs to be responsible/accountable, loyal, energetic, have a great attitude, and have a passion for the game while earning a master’s degree.

Duties would include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in all aspects of the men’s basketball program
  • Recruiting – gain experience  with on and off campus recruiting
  • Organization of Team Travel – team meals, busses, and hotels
  • Organization of all home pre-game meals, post game meals, and holiday meals
  • Oversee and monitor all student managers
  • Video Breakdown – ability to use Synergy for game videos and scouting videos
  • Assist with social media sites for men’s basketball
  • Organize community engagement activities for our team
  • Assist with individual and team camps in the summer
  • Develop relationships with our student athletes, our coaching staff, and our supporters
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be accepted into a master’s program at UWF and be enrolled in 6 hours per semester.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and during the holidays
  • Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner
  • Must have strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of the NCAA compliance rules and must pass the NCAA modules
