The University of Wisconsin – Madison is offering One Graduate Assistantship position in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics beginning August 1, 2018. Financial assistance includes tuition waiver and monthly stipend (August through May).

Responsibilities The University of Wisconsin-Madison, a member of the Big Ten Conference, provides an opportunity to work in a Division I Men’s Basketball program. Graduate Assistants in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Basketball program will work with our coaching staff in all aspects of running a Division I men’s basketball program. Primary responsibility is to support the head men’s basketball coach, assistant men’s basketball coaches, director of operations, programs assistants and support staff in daily men’s basketball duties. Candidates should possess an enthusiasm for working with student-athletes, a strong basketball background, excellent oral and written communication skills, a solid work-ethic, and a commitment to following Big Ten and NCAA rules. Strong computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications It is required that successful candidates have completed an undergraduate degree with sufficient academic credentials for admittance into a graduate degree program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is strongly advised to have GRE scores of 1000 or greater (verbal and quantitative combined) and GPA’s above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. In addition, successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.
