Upper Iowa University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach in Men’s Basketball. This is a 10 to 12 month renewable non-benefit position. Compensation for this position includes a monthly stipend and tuition assistance.

The Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Upper Iowa University reports directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Men’s Basketball program on the NCAA Division II level. Duties include, but not limited to: recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student-athletes, monitor academic progress and eligibility, and effectively analyze and teach the fundamentals skills and strategies of the sport. Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions along with develop, implement, and evaluate game plans and strategies. Serve as a leader, mentor, and role model to the student-athletes of the program. Oversee administrative processes and procedures as assigned. Ensure compliance with all Department, University, NCAA, and NSIC policies, procedures, and regulations.

Applicants must be admitted into a graduate program at Upper Iowa University and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree. The applicant should have at least two years of experience with boy’s/men’s organized basketball (collegiate, AAU, high school, etc.) Must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
