Description:

Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department, specifically assigned to Men’s Basketball. Position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department. The graduate assistant will report to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. Duties and responsibilities will include:

Duties include:

  • Assist in the direction of assigned athletic teams
  • Assist in the organization of practice sessions
  • Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University
  • Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner
  • Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach
  • Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites
  • Possess the ability to communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student-athletes
  • Serve as site administrator for home athletic events out of season
  • Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and/or Director of Athletics

Job Qualifications:

All interested candidates will need to successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University in order to be eligible for the assistantship. Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication and computer skills, familiarity with a variety of software such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Synergy, Hudl, Adobe Professional, Front Rush, Slate, etc; the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines; and availability to work evenings, Sundays and occasional weekends.
