Description:
The Assistant Professor, Health/Kinesiology and Men’s Basketball Head Coach is primarily responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the discipline of health and kinesiology. These instructional courses may include Health Education, Advanced First Aid and Safety, Aquatics, Wellness and Fitness, Weight Training, Aerobics, Individual Fitness, Adaptive Physical Education, and/or other activity classes as assigned.

The position also carries the highest level of responsibility for/to the Men’s Basketball program. Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the head coaching assignment includes supervision of athletes, organization of practice and game schedules, development of contest schedules, development and implementation of the budget, involvement in public relations efforts, recruitment and retention of student athletes, coordination of program-based fundraising and other related activities as assigned.
Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under 1) through 3):
  1. A Master’s degree in kinesiology, physical education, or exercise science; AND two years of professional experience coaching basketball.
  2. A Master’s degree in any biological science, or health education; AND a Bachelor’s degree in any of the above; AND two years of professional experience coaching basketball.
  3. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the qualifications in either 1) or 2) above.
