The Athletics Department is seeking to hire a Director of Operations for the Men’s Basketball program who will assist with the overall success of the Men’s Basketball program. The scope of responsibilities will include the following essential duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Manage all team, Head Coach, Assistant Coaches travel, including arrangements for lodging, airlines, buses, car rentals; developing itineraries for all away competition, and determining a budget for the season. Will manage and maintain records of expenses for the Men’s Basketball program.
  • Will manage the ordering of all staff and team uniforms and supplies; negotiate contracts with vendors. Serve as liaison for head coach and assistant coaches.
  • Work with the Marketing staff to increase exposure for the Men’s Basketball program through special events, community relations, sponsorships, scheduling team for community service activities.
  • Work with the Sports Information staff to ensure team bio’s are accurate, generate publicity and produce quality publications. Work with ticket staff to generate interest in attendance to events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience. Knowledge of NCAA policies and procedures is required.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications

The preferred candidate should possess the following attributes,

  • Knowledge of NCAA & university rules, polices and regulations
  • Coaching experience in a college setting
  • NCAA certification will be required post employment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
