Serves as an analyst for the men’s basketball staff for play strategies that are used in practice, game preparation, and game days. This position is not permitted to directly coach the student-athletes, but advises coaches as permissible under the NCAA rules and regulations for potential plays, strategies, etc. that may go wrong and makes calculated recommendations on the most likely successful outcomes of plays. Also, researches and identifies portfolios of potential student athletes in an effort to maintain a successful pool of recruits for the IU Men’s Basketball program.

Note: Incumbent is required to comply fully with all NCAA, Big Ten and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in sport analytics, coaching or related basketball administration at the collegiate level or higher.

Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.

Proven ability to interpret, communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations; and exceptional presentation skills. Knowledge of sport-specific fundamental, techniques, and safety rules and regulations; and possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting sport. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills including ability to influence and build positive relationships among diverse individuals including: student-athletes, parents, coaches, media, faculty, staff, students, and general public. Strong time management and organizational skills including exceptional analytical, strategic and problem solving skills. Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
