Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Coordinator of Athletic Programs 2 (On Campus Recruiting Coordinator) for Men’s Basketball. Responsibilities include organizing, managing, and directing recruiting materials for head coach and assistant coaches. Develop and mail recruiting materials to prospective student athletes. Organize all aspects of official and unofficial visits by prospective-student athletes to campus including travel, lodging, meals and daily academic meetings. In addition this position is responsible for directing the sports camps, as well as coordinating other special men’s basketball events. Must have the ability to work evening shifts and weekends. Successful candidate should have the following qualities: organizational and management skills, broad-based and diverse communication skills for effective interaction with supervisors, peers, subordinates and patrons University-wide, an attentiveness to detail, flexibility and willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires strict adherence to NCAA, Big Ten and Penn State rules and policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
