The Hoop Group is a comprehensive basketball company dedicated to fulfilling dreams of players, parents, and coaches. We provide the best instruction, competition, and exposure to athletes of all ages and ability. Hoop Group originated in 1963 as an overnight summer camp for boys and girls. Since then, we have expanded to include tournaments, instructional programs, consulting, recruiting assistance, and many other services: establishing ourselves as a basketball powerhouse. Today, Hoop Group is a leader in grassroots basketball with over 300 events and over 100,000 participants each year.

Internship Description

The summer (June-August) sales and recruiting internship experience is on-location at either Hoop Group Skills Camp (Stroudsburg, PA) or Hoop Group Elite Camp (East Stroudsburg, PA). This internship is full-time with a flexible but anticipated start date of June 7, 2022. Housing, meals, and event related expenses are provided. This internship is designed to be for college credits with opportunities to earn additional pay.

Sales and Recruiting Responsibilities

• Manage incoming correspondence with customers via email and telephone
• Communicate and work effectively with college and grassroots basketball coaches
• Recruit new and returning participants for individual and team events in a variety of methods

• Prepare and execute event logistics (event set up and tear down, crowd management, etc)
• Assist Girls and Boys Camp Directors with special projects as assigned

• Outgoing and personable
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to anticipate needs and determine priorities
• Work a non-traditional schedule and travel to assigned locations
• Maintain decorum and confidentiality when interacting with high profile customers and coaches
• Desire to pursue a career in the sports and/or coaching industries is a plus but not required
• Experience with graphic design, editing, photography, and/or videography is a plus but not required
