Springfield Commonwealth Academy located in the historic city of Springfield, Massachusetts seeks a PT Boys Basketball AA Head Coach and National team assistant for the 2023-2024 school year. This coach works closely with the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting with the national team and being the head coach of the AA Team.

This position has the possibility of becoming full time when combined with a part-time teaching or resident assistant position.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the regional team by demonstrating knowledge of the game, teaching hard work, teamwork and values of the game by creating a positive and empowering environment where the development of the student-athlete as a whole comes first.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Recruiting prospective student-athletes
• skill development
• Practice Management and on court instruction
• Game Management
• Assist National Team with practices and games.
• Filming/Video Breakdown
• Statistics
• Report scores to the league and newspapers.
• Update and manage social media
• Equipment Management
• Transportation
• Daily Basketball Operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-Year accredited College or University or equivalent
• Previous experience working in College/High School Athletics preferd
• Must be able to work evenings/weekends and maintain a flexible work schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

• Former college basketball Player or Manager
• Previous Coaching experience
• Deep Desire and ambition to work in College/High School athletics.

Compensation:

• Stipend Salary

Head coach and Assistant Coaches must have a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
