Description: | This is an entry-level position where the ideal candidate will gain the experience needed to further their career in sports with a vast exposure to college coaches of all levels. The chosen candidates will assist with all facets of our program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to on floor, field or course coaching, player development, recruiting, monitoring academics, compliance, housing supervision, transportation (valid drivers license required) and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Positions available in the following departments within the basketball program: Coaching ● Basketball Coaches ● Player Development Coaches Education ● Academic Advisor ● Academic Tutors Sports Information ● Multimedia ● Statistics ● Social Media Specialist Administration/Support ● Office Assistants ● Team Managers ● Sports Secretary Specific Requirements ● Act as a resource to students regarding program information, building relationships between students, connecting students to the program, assisting students with personal and academic concerns, etc… ● Support and emphasize the responsibilities of residence hall living with students and provide advice concerning personal and social adjustments to residential life. ● Supervise and monitor students inside and outside of residence halls. ● Responsible for the safety and security of students on campus. ● Assist in the supervision of field trips, Impact speakers, Impact movies, and social activities. ● Balance the dual roles of supervisor and mentor to the students. Minimum Position Requirements: ● High School Diploma ● Bachelor’s Degree preferred with at least 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ● A strong public service orientation to work well with faculty, staff, students, and the community. ● Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. ● Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. ● Strong computer skills. ● Skill in budget preparation. ● Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. ● Ability to stay abreast of current and developing trends (video, voice, data, and computing technologies). ● Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change. Physical Demands and Work Environment: ● Work is normally performed in a typical interior office/gymnasium environment. ● Physical effort required and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. ● Limited exposure to physical risk. ● Some travel required.
