Description:

Assist the Head Coach with responsibilities and engagements and coordinate office and program tasks including recruiting lists, travel, and dietary needs. Assists the program with social media across all platforms.

Essential Duties:

1. Manage all content for Men’s Basketball and Head Coach social media accounts. Produce advanced, detailed, and effective social media content on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis that speaks to all constituents. Work in conjunction with the Athletic Department’s Social Media Coordinator to help produce a well detailed social media plan for both the Head Coach’s personal account and the Men’s Basketball program account. Monitor the social media accounts of potential and current recruits to ensure their actions align with the beliefs and pillars of the College and the program. Create fresh content for social media, including graphics, photos, and video for all platforms.

2. Attend on and off-campus functions with the Head Coach. Assist with preparation for all public events, including reviewing itinerary and preparation of speaking materials prior to appearance.

3. Create and maintain a central recruiting database of all prospects, create a schedule for mailings, emails, and other content to be sent to recruits, track 130 day logs for recruiting days for staff, and create a social media game plan for reaching recruits and their families/support systems.

4. Work in conjunction with Sodexo and the Athletic Department Nutritionist in the creation of appropriate menus for the new team dining space in the Ruane Friar Development Center. Coordinate with Sodexo on stocking of “Grab and Go Station” in dining space, and work with the nutritionist to stock player lounge with appropriate snacks. Ensure seamless transition to the new space.

5. In conjunction with the Athletic Department Video and Marketing staff, as well as the Associate Director of Player Development/Video Operations, ensure that video boards in the atrium of the new building are updated consistently with appropriate content, current trends and ideas that appeal to prospective student-athletes are represented, and new and creative content is developed.

6. Travel ahead of official team travel party for each road trip to ensure that all logistics on the ground are ready for team arrival. Meet team hotel contact and pick-up all team keys prior to group arrival, ensure that team meeting space is set properly and re-confirm all meal times and A/V needs. Meet team bus driver and accompany bus to the airport to pick up team.

Marginal Duties:

Perform all other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  • Two to three years’ experience working with a collegiate or professional basketball or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, particularly in the social media and recruiting areas.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Work, and Teamworks
  • Valid driver’s license required
