Volunteer Assistant – Caltech – Part-time
Job description: The California Institute of Technology (Caltech), an NCAA Division III institution and member of the SCIAC, seeks candidates for the position of Volunteer Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with all aspects of program operations, such as: recruiting high academic student-athletes, video exchange, travel management, administrative and programming tasks, practice and game preparation, scouting of opponents, statistical analysis, individual training, on-the-floor coaching, fundraising, outreach, camps and clinics, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in every aspect of a collegiate basketball program.
The successful candidate must possess outstanding leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and have an understanding of NCAA Division III and SCIAC regulations. Preference will be given to those with a strong undergraduate academic record, collegiate playing experience, and/or teaching and coaching experience. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, have flexibility in their schedule, and be available to work weeknights and weekends. Position requires passing the NCAA DIII rules test.
