This coach must be able to provide assistance to Head Coach in all areas of the men’s basketball program including, but not limited to, recruiting, scouting, practice/game planning, player development, strength & conditioning workouts, academic progress monitoring, team travel, camps, etc.

Volunteer Assistants in the past have also supplemented their income by doing individual training sessions with local athletes on his own time.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

* Plan and conduct team and individual practice and training as directed. Assist in recruiting, travel arrangements, budget, home event management, strength & conditioning workouts, academic monitoring, and facility use as directed.

* Recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes, develop and establish recruiting areas and networks, and monitor initial and continuing academic eligibility.

* Conduct all aspects of programs in accordance with the rules and policies established by Rust College, the Athletics Department, the GCAC, and the NAIA.

* Project a positive image of athletics and the college within the Rust College community and the extended community. Assist with fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities. Develop and establish a community involvement and participate in public relations activities. Provide leadership to the Athletic Department by encouraging support of athletic programs and actively supporting them with attendance at events.
