Super Nova Basketball Academy is located in Dongguan, China. We are soon approaching our 4 year Anniversary and we continue to learn and grow together. We are looking for a Youthful and Energetic Coach that will help lead our Program with ultimate ENTHUSIASM.

We prefer a younger coach who preferably is still a very good player himself.  Because of the language barrier, demonstrations are important.  We need Players who can properly demonstrate the skills we are teaching.  We need our coach to be High Energy all of the time.  We need our Coach to LEAD our players and our Chinese Coaches while promoting an environment where everyone feels confident to contribute their voice to practices.

Our players range in ages (7-15) and ability (Beginner- Proficient).  These are not Future NBA or even CBA Players. These are kids who want to learn Basketball, English, and be a part of a special community of friends and families.  We want our Coach to come in and be a part of the Family and to ideally move forward with us into the future.

Our Fall/Winter Contract runs from early September through January.

Responsibilities:

• Head Coach of 5+ Classes each week, working with 1 or 2 Chinese Assistant Coaches. TEACH THEM how to be better coaches.
• Meet weekly via Skype with US Coaching Director and/or Chinese Program Director along with Chinese Coaches to recap what is going on in our program, your experience, and to establish a Lesson plan for the next week.
• Take the Lead and Execute plan for classes.  Be assertive, creating an efficient practice with positive and encouraging environment. Don’t just be a Clock Puncher.  We need a Leader who is genuinely enthusiastic and shares that enthusiasm with everyone. We need someone with Super Positive Body Language.  Parents are always watching!
• Coach / Officiate/ Help Organize Super Nova Basketball League.  Make sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to do and the games are running efficiently.
• Help with any other Business Development / Marketing Ventures and help come up with new ideas.
