RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform on-court basketball instruction at basketball camps and clinics hosted by the Atlanta Hawks Community Basketball Programs
  • Lead basketball skills, drills and competitions for kids and players ages 7-16
  • Bring energy and professionalism at all activations for youth participants
  • Provide outstanding customer service to youth, parents, clients, corporate partners
  • Assist with planning, programming and execution of Atlanta Hawks Community Basketball Programs Events (Ex. camps, clinics, tournaments, leagues, skills challenges, contests, etc.)
  • Assist with prospecting Atlanta Hawks Affiliate Program Partners—develop build and maintain relationships with basketball directors at churches, recreation centers, community organizations, and scholastic basketball programs
  • Transport basketball equipment to and from events utilizing the marketing vehicle fleet (driver training and valid driver’s license required prior to using company vehicle)
  • Assist with load-ins and load-outs for events
  • Demonstrate and communicate Hawks values and Jr NBA principles to youth participants: teamwork, respect, hard work, sportsmanship, fundamentals, healthy living
  • Assist with basketball related sponsorship activations with community and corporate partners including YMCA, MJCCA, Parks and Recreation
  • Promote and market Atlanta Hawks Basketball Academy events and activations via promotional tables and outings, flyer distribution, grassroots marketing efforts
  • Work with Hawks Alumni and NBA Alumni through Community Basketball Programs to promote the Hawks brand and enhance alumni and community relations
  • Office duties as assigned
  • Mandatory attendance at orientation; SMILE training; Sensory Inclusion training; Respect in the Workplace training; other company-wide trainings
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience playing and coaching basketball required
  • Experience working with kids of all ages preferred
  • Prior experience working basketball camps, clinics, tournaments is required
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday seasons is preferred
  • CANNOT be affiliated with an AAU Program (NBA RULE)
  • CANNOT work with draft ineligible players (EX: international players, top 100 high school players)
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to event locations throughout Metropolitan Atlanta
  • Must be comfortable working in groups of people and enjoy public speaking
  • Must be organized, punctual, and pay attention to detail. Team Player mentality
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
