Siena Basketball Head Coach Carmen Maciariello has announced the addition of Jonathan Pickett to his staff. The Capital Region native from nearby Mechanicville, New York has been appointed Maciariello’s special assistant.
“I’m excited to welcome Jonathan Pickett to our Siena Basketball family,” said Maciariello. “He is a tireless worker with deep roots in the Capital Region community. Jonathan is constantly trying to do all he can to help our program improve on a daily basis.”
Pickett joins the Saints after spending the 2020-21 season as the Director of Analytics for the University at Albany Men’s Basketball team. In his role, he created analytic-driven reports aimed at aiding the coaching staff with scouting reports and internal player development. Pickett also developed a shot tracking system, assisted in player development, and supervised and evaluated student managers.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to stay home and continue to grow in my career under Coach Maciariello,” noted Pickett. “Siena Basketball holds a special place in the Capital Region, and I’m honored to join such a storied program.”
As an undergraduate, Pickett served as the head student manager for the Great Danes for each of his final two seasons. He was the head manager and assistant to the video coordinator for the UAlbany Women’s Basketball program during his two years as an underclassman.
Pickett is a 2020 graduate of UAlbany with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration – Financial Management.
