Byron Starks is no longer the head basketball coach at NJCAA D1 Baton Rouge Community College. The coaching veteran was recently named as the Director or Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture for the City of Lafayette, LA.
Starks had spent the past three years as the head coach at BRCC where he went 48-28 and captured the LCCAC Coach of the Year award following his first season. Starks also spent five seasons as the head coach at LSU Eunice and won back-to-back State Championships (2017 and 2018) as the head coach at Lafayette Christian Academy.
The search at BRCC is well underway at this point, and an new coach is expected to be named shortly.
