Northwest Kansas Technical College head coach Jeremy Johnston has departed and will become an assistant at DII Metropolitan State University of Denver. Current NW Tech assistant coach Nathan Padia has been promoted to replace Johnston.

Johnston had been the Mavericks head coach since 2014 and led his squad to a 18-13 record this past season. Before coming to Northwest Tech, Johnston had worked at Dodge City CC, Colorado Mesa, and Nevada.

Padia was hired as an assistant back in 2016 and has also served as the head coach of the JV program at NW Tech. He has also worked as a graduate assistant coach at Ottawa University, and an assistant coach at DII Southwest Baptist University.

An official announcement is expected shortly
