Multiple sources have told me that NJCAA D1 Daytona State is set to name Florida Gulf Coast assistant Joey Cantens as their new head men’s basketball coach.
Cantens has been an assistant at FGCU since 2018 – he also worked as the DBO there from 2011-14. The Miami native played at Eckerd College (FL), and has also worked with the San Antonio Spurs, and professional teams in Germany.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
