I can confirm that defending NJCAA DII National Champion Kirkwood Community College (IA) will name Tim Sandquist as their new head basketball coach. The current head coach at NJCAA DIII Rock Valley (IL), Sandquist will replace Bryan Petersen who became an assistant at South Dakota State.

Last season was Sandquist’s first as the head coach at RVC. He led his squad to a 25-7 record, and they advanced to the NJCAA DIII National Championship game. Sandquist has also been an assistant at Northwest Kansas Tech, Dodge City CC (KS), and Southwestern CC (IA).

An official announcement is expected this week.
