I can confirm that Sercan “Serg” Fenerci has resigned as the head basketball coach at Lamar Community College (CO). He will become the Assistant Athletic Director at Bunker Hill Community College (MA).

During Fenerci’s two plus seasons as the head coach at LCC, he compiled a 55-23 overall record, and his squad was ranked as high as 11th in the country this past year (26-7). Fenerci does have New England ties, having been an assistant at Northern Essex CC (MA), Wheelock College (MA), and Plymouth State (NH).

It sounds like current assistant coach Rian Stubbs will be named as the new head coach to replace Fenerci. Last season was his first at LCC, and he has previously worked at Hardin-Simmons University (TX) and Clarendon College (TX).

An official announcement is expected shortly.
