I can confirm that NJCAA D1 Florida State College at Jacksonville will hire former UT Arlington assistant coach John Putyrski as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Putyrski began last season at UTA as the Director of Scouting & Video, and was elevated to assistant coach after Greg Young was released in early February. Prior to being hired at Arlington, Putyrski worked at Illinois State, moving his way up from video coordinator (2019-20) to Director of Player Personnel (2020-21) to Director of Operations (2021-22) before being bumped to assistant coach (2022).

Putyrski also has experience at the JUCO level, having served as an assistant at Eastern Florida State College (2018-19).
