I can confirm that NJCAA D2 Macomb CC (MI) head basketball coach Hassan Nizam has resigned, and will become a D1 assistant. It sounds like he will land on the staff at Central Michigan.

Nizam has been the head coach at MCC since 2021 where he has gone 53-13. This past season, he led his team to a 28-8 mark, and advanced to the NJCAA D2 National Championship game. The 28-wins were the most in program history, and his squad finished the season ranked #2 in the polls – their best finish ever.

Prior to his time at MCC, Nizam was the head coach at Roseville High School in Detroit (2017-21), and he has also worked with The Family’s EYBL U16 team.
