JUCO DIRT: Mesabi Range set to name former WNBA player as new Head Men’s Basketball Coach

NJCAA D3 Mesabi Range College (MN) will hire Tamara Moore as their new head men’s basketball coach.

The former University of Wisconsin standout (1,662 career points) spent six seasons in the WNBA (2002-07) with six different teams after being drafted 15th overall in 2002.

During her college career, Moore was a 2001 and 2002 Honorable Mention All-American, and was selected as the 1999 WNIT MVP. The Minnesota native was also named Miss Basketball in the state during her senior season at Minneapolis North HS.

She will replace David Wilson who spent one year as the head coach at MRC. The Norsemen were 6-19 (5-11) last season.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
