I have heard from multiple sources that Scott Raines will be stepping away as the head men’s basketball coach at NJCAA D1 Howard College (TX). Raines’ wife Kelly, who had been the softball coach at the college just became the AD and softball coach at Galveston College (about 8 hours away from Howard).

Raines had spent the past nine seasons as the head coach at Howard, where he put together a 170-91 record. His team went 16-12 (8-8) this past season, and were 5th in the nation in ppg allowed at 59.3.

The veteran coach has also worked at Moberly Area CC, Midland College, University of Oklahoma (Men and Women), Alderson Broaddus College and Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts.
