I have heard from multiple sources that Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa is expected to hire Patrick Nee as their new men’s basketball coach.

Nee who spent last season as an assistant at Allen CC (KS), has a long track record of success as a JUCO head coach. He has had stops at Garden City CC (2018-20), Independence CC (2009-13) and Highland CC (2006-09), during which time he won 140 games.

The coaching veteran has also worked at D1 UTRGV (2020-21), Seward County Community College (2013-17), Independence (2004-06), Hargrave Military Prep (2003-04) and Central Florida Community College (2002-03).

Last season at Allen, Nee was part of a squad that went 28-7, won their first-ever Region VI Championship, and first KJCCC D2 Conference title since 1998.

Nee would replace Brad Witherspoon, who took over at Dodge City CC back in mid-May.

An official announcement could happen sometime this week.
