HoopDirt.com can confirm that NJCAA DIII Springfield Tech CC (MA) has hired Michael Booker as their new head basketball coach. He replaces Bob Freitas who resigned earlier this off-season to spend more time with his family.

Booker is a former player at STCC who helped lead the Rams to the 2008 Region XXI title, and a #4 national ranking. He was most recently an assistant coach at Westfield State University, and had also spent four seasons on the staff at Western New England College.
