Hocking College Director of Athletics, Rick Walker, has tabbed Ben Patrick as the next Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball team. “We are please to welcome Coach Patrick and his family to Hocking College. Coach Patrick is a man of integrity and is the right person to lead the program going forward.” “I am honored to lead this program into its next chapter” said Patrick. “Together, we’ll establish a culture of discipline, determiniation, and pride that will set a new standard for success. This is more than basketball – it’s about character, leadership, and helping the athletes in our program reach their full potential, on and off the court.”
Patrick is an accomplished basketball coach renowned for his up-tempo offense and aggressive defensive style of play. He has consistently made a profound and immediate impact on the programs he has been a part of.
Throughout his career, Coach Patrick has earned numerous accolades, including District Coach of the Year (2022), MOCAL Coach of the Year (2022), and District 10 Coach of the Year for three consecutive years (2020-2022). He played a pivotal role in leading Northside Christian to its first-ever District title and Regional Final, and guided Tree of Life to a top-10 finish in the Ohio AP Poll in 2022. His leadership at Columbus School for Girls resulted in more wins in his first season than the previous three seasons combined. Additionally, he led Marion Catholic to a top-10 ranking in the 1999 AP State Basketball Poll and Delaware Christian to a runner-up finish in the ACSI State Tournament (1997-1998), setting a school record for wins in the same season.
Coach Patrick holds a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ashford University (2013). His academic credentials underpin a career marked by strategic leadership and athletic excellence.
Coach Patrick’s dedication to developing athletes and his strategic approach to the game have made him a respected figure in the basketball community. Patrick resides in Lancaster, OH with his family.
