• I am hearing that former Schoolcraft Head Coach and Detroit Assistant Coach, Carlos Briggs, has been hired at Trinity Valley CC (TX) as an assistant coach. Briggs was drafted in the fourth round by the San Antonio Spurs in 1986. He was the head coach at Schoolcraft from 1997 to 2006 with a record of 249-39 and reached a junior college Final Four in 2001 with a 36-1 team.

• I can also report that Dean College has named Michael Forde an assistant coach. Forde has spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Bristol Community College. He started his collegiate career playing for current Dean College coach Rico Cabral at Mount Ida College. He led the country in scoring (div 2 juco) with 31 ppg during the 1994-1995 season before transferring and finishing his playing career at American International College.
