Keene State Men’s Basketball Staff Update

Fourth year Keene State College men’s basketball coach Ryan Cain has announced the following changes to his staff, effective immediately.

Third year staff member David Hastings has been promoted to Associate Head Coach. Hastings joined the KSC staff as an assistant coach in 2016. A longtime high school coach in Western Massachusetts, Hastings brings 15 years of experience at Pioneer Valley Regional High School. After four seasons as an assistant coach at Pioneer Valley, Hastings took over the program for the 2001-02 season. Since then, he led the Panthers to the Western Mass. semifinals, and 11 appearances in the Western Mass. tournament. Hastings also served as the Director of The Edge, an AAU program in Western Massachusetts.

Also joining the staff as an assistant coach is Jordan Monts. Monts comes to Keene State after two years as a graduate assistant coach at Bethany College in West Virginia. Monts helped the Bison to a 34-26 record in two seasons and a pair of ECAC tournament appearances. Monts was a four year player at Regis College (Mass.), serving as captain his junior and senior season and leading the Pride to its first ever New England Collegiate Conference championship and appearance in the NCAA tournament. He finished his playing career in the top 10 in school history in points, rebounds, and assists.

“We are happy to add Jordan to our staff as he is a great person and will be an asset to our staff. Jordan has experience as an assistant with all aspects of a basketball program after working as a graduate assistant for Bethany College the past two seasons. We are excited to welcome him to our staff,” said Cain. “Dave has been with us for two seasons and he’s been an important part of our success. He does so many different things for our program and has earned the new role.”
