King named Head Coach at Hostos

Dr.Jody King has been named as the head basketball coach at Hostos CC (NY).

As the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at SUNY Maritime College, Dr. King, led a remarkable resurgence within the basketball program in just three seasons. He left Maritime with a career NCAA record of 47-35, more than doubling the win total in the five years combined before his program arrived. Additionally, the program is one of the most successful by winning percentage in school history.

His coaching track record includes time at SUNY-Maritime College (2007-2010); Farmingdale State College (2006-2007); Yeshiva University (2005-2006, 2000-2002); Tilden High School [Brooklyn, NY] (2003-2005); and Southern Vermont College (2002-2003).

Last year, Dr. King was a Regional reporter for D3Hoops.com providing weekly on-air commentary for the “Hoopsville” internet show and game commentator for NCAA Division 3 Basketball. His color commentary for Regional Games on D3Hoops.com provided a voice for the Skyline Conference, NJAC, Empire 8, and the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Dr. King holds a doctorate in Developmental Psychology with a Specialization in Risk and Resilience among At-Risk Urban Youth from Yeshiva University. Currently, Dr. King is an Applied Behavior Science Specialist/Psychologist for Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State. Additionally, Dr. King lectures about psychology at Westchester Community College, Farmingdale State College, and the College of New Rochelle. He comes to Hostos with scores of experience and willingness to instill athletic dexterity and academic distinction to young adults.
