Rumor has it that Bob Knight is interested in vacancy at Georgia. The 68 year old Knight, who is the all-time winningest coach in college basketball history with 902 wins, has said that if the right situation comes along, he would be interested.

Is Georgia the right situation? It may be. Knight would be coaching in a high-major conference (SEC), and have the facilities and support to get it done. If Georgia AD Damon Evans is serious about making the Bulldogs a national contender, Bob Knight would be a great choice.

I also think there will be a lot of other open jobs this spring, so don’t look for Knight to jump too quickly on this one. He could wind up back in the Big Ten if Northwestern opens up.
