Kyle Taylor Named Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Utah State

Utah State head men’s basketball coach Tim Duryea has announced that current director of player personnel Kyle Taylor has been named Special Assistant to the Head Coach. The promotion entails a broader range of duties, including increased involvement in overall program planning.

“Kyle has proven to be a very valuable resource to our program in general, and to me specifically,” Duryea said. “He is a highly qualified member of our staff, who adds valuable input in numerous areas. This promotion is indicative of his value to me and the rest of the staff. I hope he and his wife, Shannon, stay in Cache Valley for a long time.”

Taylor is currently in his second year with the Aggies, joining Utah State following a seven-year head coaching stint at Covenant College, where he also served as the Athletics Director from 2013-16. Taylor led the Scots to one of their most successful seasons in school history in 2015-16, finishing the year 18-10, capturing the USA South Tournament championship and advancing to the school’s first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

“I’m looking forward to this new role with the Aggies,” Taylor said. “Utah State is a great place to be and I’m thankful to Coach Duryea for showing trust and confidence in me for this position. I’m looking forward to doing my part and contributing to the success that is on the horizon for this program.”
