Bridgewater College men’s basketball head coach Steve Enright has announced the addition of Sam LaClair to his coaching staff for the 2020-21 season.
“Sam is a young coach who is very committed to learning the business at the college level,” said Enright. “He is very intelligent and understands the game, and should be able to help us on many fronts, including in scouting, video, and player development. Additionally, he gives us another local connection, serving as Coach Hatcher’s manager with the basketball program at Staunton High School as well as working with Coach Chad Seibert with Virginia Blaze AAU and Eastern Mennonite High School the past two seasons. Sam will add even more depth to our coaching staff – can’t wait for him to get started.”
LaClair spent two seasons on the staff at Robert E. Lee High School (now Staunton High). The 2017 team won the VHSL 2A state championship and the 2018 squad finished as runner-up in the 2A state tournament.
LaClair also coach two seasons at Eastern Mennonite High School where the Flames lost in the VISAA Division III title game each year. He also was the head junior varsity coach one season and coached the team to the conference title.
LaClair is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in exercise science at James Madison University.
