LaGrange College Promotes Jasen Jonus to Associate Head Basketball Coach

LaGrange College men’s basketball head coach has Kendal Wallace announced a change on his coaching staff for the 2017-18 season. Assistant coach Jasen Jonus has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.

“Coach Jonus has been a major impact in our success here at LaGrange College,” Wallace said.  “Through four years of service, he has assisted and exceled in every facet of our program.  This promotion is certainly earned and well deserved.”

Jonus is the recruiting coordinator for the Panthers. In addition, he has been the varsity reserve head coach for the past two seasons. Since Jonus’ arrival, the Panthers have won three USA South Tournament championships and reached the NCAA Division III national tournament four straight seasons. The program has produced a D3hoops.com All-South Region and a NABC South All-District selection, five USA South All-Conference performers, and 40 Panthers have earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors.

He played three years at Birmingham-Southern College after transferring from Wallace State (Ala.) Community College. He was named Newcomer of the Year his first year and selected to the SCAC All-Conference team twice.

He holds a master’s degree in education in history and reading.
