Lake Forest College Hires Assistant Coaches

Lake Forest College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ken Davis
announced Monday, the addition of Jamayne Potts and Rob
Wennington to his staff.

Potts comes to Lake Forest after serving as a successful High School
Head Coach in Southern California, each of the past 4 seasons. During
the 2018-19 season, Potts was the Head Coach at Village Christian
High School, and led the program to a 10-win improvement from the
previous season. Prior to Village Christian, Potts was the Head Coach
at Burbank High School. In his three seasons at Burbank, Potts led the
‘Bulldogs’ to three straight CIF Southern Section Playoff
Championships and 62 total wins.

Prior to coaching at the High School level, Potts served as an Assistant
Coach at California Institute of Technology, for four seasons. Potts has
coached with BTI Basketball Club since 2012, and will remain coaching
with the BTI while with the Foresters.

Potts graduated from Bethany University with a degree in Business
Management, and was a member of the schools basketball team.
Wennington comes to Lake Forest after serving as the Athletic Director
at Guerin College Prep. Prior to Guerin Prep, Wennington was a Men’s
Basketball Graduate Assistant at Northwestern University. While with
the ‘Wildcats’, Wennington assisted Head Coach Chris Collins, in all
facets of the program.

Prior to his time at Northwestern, Wennington spent three years at
Catholic Memorial School in Massachusetts. At Catholic Memorial,
Wennington served as an Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant Boy’s
Basketball Coach and an English Teacher. During the 2014-15 season,
Wennington helped lead the Boy’s Basketball program to a D1 State
Championship.

Wennington graduated from Boston College with a degree in
Communication, and was a member of the schools football team. He
was born and raised in Lake Forest and attended Loyola Academy.
