Late Night Dirt – 7/21/14

A late night update…The DirtKing is running his camp this week – going to be a wild one. A bunch of snot nosed 9-year old kids…ugh! Here are some things I’ve heard while dealing with peanut allergies, epi–pens and, ADHD (in the old days, camp was just about basketball)…

• I have heard that Penn State-Brandywine head coach Stuart Ross has resigned and will become the head coach at Collegium Charter School (PA). He had been at PSU-Brandywine for the past four seasons and has also served as the head coach at Kennett (PA) HS and as an assistant at West Chester University.

• I mentioned back on 6/19 that Northwest Florida State assistant Matt Cline was headed to Eastern Michigan as the DBO. It’s now official – the announcement was made today: http://www.emueagles.com/news/2014/7/21/MBB_0721144300.aspx?…

• Craziest rumor that I’ve heard in a while…I’ve got a great source telling me that the choice as the new head coach at USC-Salkehatchie could be recent Milligan College graduate Corey Hendren. If this is accurate, he would become the youngest head coach in the country at just 22 – he attended Lexington (SC) HS, which is about 70 miles from SALK. More on this as I hear it.

• It sounds like former Virginia Tech video coordinator Kenny Brown has become an assistant at the Wellington School in Columbus (OH). Brown had also served in a video capacity at Oklahoma State.

• I have heard that South Plains College has hired Kevon Davis as their #2 assistant. He was most recently an assistant at Harcum College (PA) where he had spent the past five seasons.

• Word on the street is that Hillsdale Baptist (OK) assistant Spenser Nunes will become an assistant at Dickinson State (ND). Nunes, who also coached the JV team at Hillsdale Baptist, was a HS coach before joining Mark Berokoff’s staff in 2012.
