East Carolina University has announced that an extension of head men’s basketball coach Jeff Lebo’s contract, which would help secure his position through the 2018-19 season, was approved Friday by the University’s Board of Trustees.
In his first season at the helm of the Pirates, Lebo led East Carolina to its first winning season in 14 years and its first postseason appearance since 1993. The Pirates finished the season at 18-16, their third-highest win total in school history and most by a first-year coach.
