UNCW assistant men’s basketball coach Brooks Lee has resigned to pursue other interests, Head Coach Buzz Peterson announced on Friday.
Lee, 31, joined the UNCW program five years ago and served in three different capacities with the Seahawks. He was an assistant coach during the 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 campaigns before moving over to the operations post on Peterson’s staff in 2010-11. Peterson then elevated him back to assistant coach in 2011-12. In between, Lee was interim head coach of the Seahawks for the final 10 games of the 2009-10 season.
UNCW was Lee’s fourth stop in collegiate basketball. He began his career as an assistant for Mike Young at Wofford in 2002-03 and was the Director of Basketball Operations at East Carolina in 2004-05 after spending two seasons at UNC Greensboro.
