LeTourneau University has named Dan Miller as the new head men’s basketball coach, announced athletic director Terri Deike. "After a national search, we are very excited to have a person of Dan’s caliber join the LETU staff and begin work to move the men’s basketball program to the next level."
Miller comes to LeTourneau after a successful career as a collegiate assistant and as a high school boy’s basketball coach at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. After a stint as an assistant at the University of Southwest Minnesota, from 2003-04 under head coach Greg Stemen, Miller built the program from scratch at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. Over the last nine years, he posted a 218-70 overall record, including four district titles, two regional appearances and seven-straight playoff appearances. The two regional appearances and seven-straight playoff appearances is unprecedented success in Katy ISD.
The high school program developed by Miller at Seven Lakes produced 32 of a possible 43 district titles among the five teams. Eleven former student-athletes continued their basketball skills on the collegiate level, including six on the NCAA Division I level.
Miller was named the District 19-5A Coach of the Year on four occasions, the Katy ISD All Sports Coach of the Year in 2010 and coached in the Houston Area Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in 2012.
The Brillion, Wisconsin native will be joined in Longview by his wife, Monica, and three children, daughter, Kayla, and sons, Kyren and Kayden.
