Johns Hopkins men’s basketball coach Josh Loeffler announced his coaching staff this week. Joining the Blue Jays for the 2017-18 season are John Andrzejek, Maurice Williams and Kevin Quinlan. Hopkins will open the season on November 15 at home versus Marymount.

Andrzejek comes to Johns Hopkins after serving as the director of basketball operations at San Francisco for 2016-17. While with the Dons, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the program, including budget, travel, academic progress and advance scouting. Last season, USF had the most wins (20) in four years and the most under a first-year head coach since 1981. Andrzejek went west after serving as director of operations at his alma mater, Columbia. He graduated from Columbia in just two and a half years with a degree in philosophy. While an undergrad, he served as a team manager and assistant to the director of operations for the Lions.

Williams comes to Homewood from nearby Stevenson, where he spent last season as an assistant coach for the Mustangs. He coached the post players as well as serving as the recruiting coordinator and community outreach coordinator. Williams spent the 2015-16 season as an assistant at his alma mater, Frostburg State, where he was in charge of player development as well as recruiting. He also had coaching stints at Salisbury and Eastern. Williams earned First Team All-CAC honors in 2012 after leading the league in free throw percentage (.851) and offensive rebounds (72) and ranking second in points (16.7). He graduated from Frostburg State with a degree in Heath and Physical Education and later earned a Master in Recreation and Sports Science from Ohio.

Quinlan joins the Hopkins staff after a seven-year stint as head coach at Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD. During his tenure, he led GCS to a 122-80, four MIAA playoff berths and one MIAA Championship (2011). Prior to arriving in Ellicott City, Quinlan spent three seasons as the head coach at Thomas Edison High School in Alexandria, VA. He also had assistant coaching stints at T.C Williams High School (Alexandria, VA) and Sidwell Friends School (Washington, DC). Quinlan is a graduate of Maryland with degrees in geography (1991) and zoology (1995) and has a Masters of Education from George Mason.
